For Visitors:

Unama’ki/Cape Breton is home to a rich and wondrous array of natural fibre producers and artisans.

Some destinations are seasonal, and some are open only by chance or appointment. Click the individual destination link to get details on its hours and other helpful information, or click the box in the upper right corner to expand to full screen in Google Maps.

You can also find the Fibre Trail on Facebook.

For Cape Breton Island Destinations:

If you are an Unama’ki/Cape Breton Island fibre destination and would like to be added to the map, use our online form (please reference "fibre trail") to get the ball of yarn rolling. Key criteria are that your destination must…

  • be on Unama’ki/Cape Breton Island

  • have an active Google Maps listing

  • be open to visitors (either regular hours, or by appointment - your Google Maps listing should stipulate which)

  • grow/produce fibres on the island, or make fibre arts products on the island (so, for example, a yarn store that does not stock any locally produced fibres or locally produced fibre art will not be included on the Fibre Trail)
