Intermediate Ecoprinting

  • South Haven Community Hall 4411 Nova Scotia 105 South Haven Canada (map)
Intermediate Ecoprinting (2 Days)

Techniques for transferring natural plant pigments directly onto fabric, along with the shape and surface details of plant parts, are growing in popularity. Often referred to as 'contact prints', 'leaf prints', 'botanical prints', or 'ecoprints', this is a very fun and beautiful approach to surface design with natural dyes. No artificial inks or dyes are used in this process, only those extracted from plants.

Students Will Take Home:

  • printed samples for use in other crafts and/or as a reference library of techniques

  • two printed scarves (one produced each day based on techniques learned/samples produced earlier that day)

  • dye records showing all of the key variables in achieving successful results

  • an expanded skill set to further explore the magic of ecoprinting
